About The Association

The Canadian Amateur Brewers Association is a federally incorporated nonprofit organization, dedicated to the promotion of homebrewing and the education of home brewers through educational seminars, workshops and publications.

CABA was started in 1984 as a forum for homebrewers, both novice and experienced, to exchange ideas, skills and their love of homebrewing. Since then conferences, competitions, flavour perception and judge training seminars have become annual events.

CABA is an organization run by amateur home brewers, some of whom bring expertise from the brewing industry. CABA has members from across Canada as well as from various countries around the world. Elections are held in the fall of each year to choose a board of directors. All paid-up members are eligible for these positions.

CABA has regional representatives across the country who help organize events and exchange beer related information through articles in the Newsletter.

CABA supports international Beer Judge programs and runs tasting/training workshops and seminars.
